Earle’s record for being elected mayor of the city
Earle’s population is only 1800
He assured the people that he would improve public safety and bring in
businesses
An 18-year-old student in America created history. He holds the record for
being the youngest elected mayor of a small town in eastern Arkansas.
Jaylen Smith, who is black, was elected mayor of Earle in Tuesday’s
election. As a result, he created history as the youngest elected mayor of
a city in America. Moreover, it is noteworthy that he is the youngest
member of the African American Mayors Association in America. Currently,
the youngest member of the association is Cleveland Mayor Justin Bibb, who
is 35 years old, and Smith has now broken the record. Smith, an Earle High
School graduate, campaigned extensively in the election. Earle, located 40
kilometers northwest of Memphis, Tennessee, promised people that he would
work to build facilities. He campaigned to improve public safety and bring
in new businesses, including a grocery store, in this city of only 1,800
people. Smith is currently a student at Arkansas State University Mid-South
in West Memphis, Arkansas. Does he have the experience that people accepted
him even though he was very young? Or? Smith expressed his happiness that
he did not care about the fact that he was a high school student.
